Recently Xiaomi has launched its latest midrange smartphones in China. They have launched Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro on June 12th and June 25th respectively. And we’re pretty sure that these two devices will take the smartphone market in the storm within a short time. Now, let us see which one of the smartphones would be value for money and worth buying in between Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 pro.

Display:- Redmi 6 has 5.45″ (1440×720p) HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, whereas Redmi 6 pro is launched with a slide bigger and better display. It has a 5.84” (1080×2280) Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Redmi 6 pro comes with a notched display and the interesting thing is that the company has confirmed that the notch can be hidden by the software solution.

Processor:- Processor is the heart of the smartphones. Surprisingly Xiaomi has offered MediaTek’s latest Octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC for Redmi 6 and they have claimed that it would be faster than Qualcomm’s 425 SoC. However, Redmi 6 pro is powered by Octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC. So without any doubt, Redmi 6 pro will be much faster and powerful than Redmi 6.

Camera:- In terms of optics, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro both offer a dual camera setup of the 12MP Primary lens and a 5MP depth sensor. Also, both of these devices have a front-facing 5MP camera which supports AI Portrait mode and faces unlock feature.

Battery:- Redmi 6 is powered by 3000 mAh battery whereas Redmi 6 comes with a huge 4000 mAh battery.

OS:- Both devices Run on MIUI 9 based Android 8.1 Oreo.

Storage & RAM:- Both Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 pro will be available with 32/64 GB internal storage (expandable up to 256 GB) with 3/4 GB of RAM.
Redmi 6 Pro has a dedicated slot for micro SD card but Redmi 6 has the only hybrid slot.

Price:- The price of 32GB+3GB and 64GB+4GB variants of Redmi 6 are set at CNY 799 (Rs. 8k approx) & CNY 999 (Rs. 10k approx) respectively.
And the Price of 32GB+3GB, 32GB+4GB and 64GB+4GB varients of Redmi 6 pro are set at CNY 999 (Rs. 10k approx), CNY 1199 (Rs. 12k approx) and CNY 1299 (Rs. 13k approx) respectively.

From above discussion, we already get to know that the Redmi 6 pro will be better than Redmi 6 in multiple ways.

And if your budget is small and you’re looking for a smartphone for daily normal usage i.e browsing, listening music etc. then Redmi 6 will be the best option for you.

But if you want a little bit more of everything like better display, bigger battery with powerful processor then you should definitely go for the Redmi 6 pro.

Although these devices haven’t been launched in India yet but we’re hoping to see them being launched soon. So if you’re planning to buy a smartphone at this moment, probably you should wait a bit because these devices might be the good options for you.
