The successors of Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A have been launched in China as Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A on June 12th in an event and Xiaomi has claimed that these two Devices will be faster and more powerful as compared to Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A.
This time Xiaomi has offered MediaTek’s latest Helio P22 SoC for Redmi 6 and MediaTek Helio A22 SoC for Redmi 6A. Both chipsets are built on the 12 nm processors using FinFET technology clocked at 2 GHz, and the company has claimed that it will be faster than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 SoC, as well as it will also consume 48% less power than the comparable 28 mm chips.
Both the devices will run on MIUI 9 powered by Android 8.1. In terms of display, both devices come with 5.45″ (1440×720p) HD+ 18:9 full-screen display.
Redmi 6 is powered by 32/64 GB of Internal Storage (Expandable Up to 256 GB) and 3/4 GB of RAM while Redmi 6A comes up with 16 GB of internal storage (Expandable Up to 128 GB) with 2 GB of RAM. Both two smartphones are integrated with 3000 mAh battery, which is pretty decent. And they have a dual hybrid SIM card slot, that means you can either use two SIM cards or One SIM card and a Micro SD card at once.
In terms of optics, Redmi 6 offers a dual camera setup, 12MP Primary camera, and a 5MP depth sensor, whereas Redmi 6A offers a 13MP single rear camera on the back. For selfies, both devices have a 5MP on the front. Portrait mode, Face unlock features are also made available for these smartphones.
Xiaomi has offered its own voice assistant app Xiao AI Voice Assistant with these two devices and it is directly integrated with the camera to recognize living environment, plants vehicles etc. to capture more natural a beautiful pictures.
So without any doubt, these two smartphones will throw a real challenge to the other smartphones available on this budget segment. As we reported above that it’s already launched in China, so we’re expecting them soon to be launched in India as well.
The price of Redmi 6A is set at CNY 599 (Rs. 6000 approx.) and the price of Redmi 6 is set at CNY 799 (Rs. 8000 approx) & CNY 999 (Rs. 10000). The company hasn’t confirmed when it will be launched in India yet so we’ll have wait and see.
