Realme 2 Launched at 8,990 Rs. in India – Our Opinions

Oppo‘s Subbrand Realme launched Realme 2 in India. After Realme 1, we had lots of expectation from this Realme 2. The key and highlighting feature of Realme 1 is its Helio P60 chip. So we expected that Realme 2 will also come with a killer chip inside. But the company broke our expectations by giving Snapdragon 450 chip in this Realme 2. But wait, there are lots of other improvements on this device like the Notch, dual camera, fingerprint scanner etc. As the company said, the Realme 2 is not the actual successor of Realme 1. It is just another device with other options. The real successor will be Realme 2 Pro which will be launched in September this year. So should you give a space in your heart for this new Realme 2 device? Let’s have a look on our opinions on Realme 2.

Realme 2 Price in India:

There are two different variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage priced at 8,990 Rs. and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage priced at 10,990 Rs. The price of the device is the same as its predecessor. It is available in Diamond Black, Diamond Red, and Diamond Blue color options. But the Diamond Blue color variant will be available from early October. Realme 2 Opinions:

There are two major cut-outs on this device. The first one is its display. Realme 1 came with FullHD+ resolution but there we get HD+ only. The second one is obviously the processor. MediaTek’s Helio P60 is far better than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 SoC. But there are some improvements. Realme 1 has no fingerprint scanner and this was its deal-breaking point. But the issue is now resolved in this Realme 2. They gave a fingerprint scanner along with a Face Unlock feature to unlock the device securely. The Notch is here on this device. But the previous one had only normal 18:9 panel. The dual camera is present on this Realme 2 whereas its predecessor only has a single camera. But the dual camera is not that much great here. They provided 13MP primary shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front-facing camera is the same 8MP here. The battery is now too big. Realme 2 offers huge 4230 mAh battery. Its predecessor offers 3410 mAh battery. As the company said, these two devices come with different key features.

If you want-

  • Better Processor
  • Better Display

Then go for Realme 1.

  • But If you want-
  • Notch
  • Dual camera
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Better battery

Then go for Realme 2.
