Huawei’s New Midrange Smartphone: Honor 7X

Honor 7XHuawei brand Honor launched their midrange smartphone, the successor of the Honor 6X, the Honor 7X at a media event in Beijing, China. Honor 6x was one of those smartphones that sport dual cameras at that time in that price range. But now, mostly all midrange smartphones have dual rear camera setup. Last year’s Honor 6x had the great camera setup. So, is Honor 7X has also the great camera setup? Let’s talk about the pricing first.

Honor 7X Price:

The Honor 7X with 32GB internal storage is priced at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 12,890), whereas the 64GB model is priced at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 16,850), with the top-of-the-line model with 128GB storage priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 19,820). You can purchase the Honor 7X in Aurora Blue, Gold, and Black colour options. It will go on sale in China on October 17, a day after Huawei is expected to launch the flagship Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro flagship smartphones. Now, look at the specifications.


The specifications are nearly similar to the newly launched Honor 9i. The device has 5.93 inches of Full-HD+ display (1080×2160 pixels). It has not the standard display, it has curvey display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Here the screen to body ratio is 77%. So, here you can get little bezels. The weight of the phone is only 165g.

Honor 7X runs Android Nougat 7.0 with EMUI 5.1 on top. It is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC (4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.36GHz + 4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz) coupled with 4GB of RAM and 3340mAh battery. Sadly, there is no fast charging.

The company has pushed the fingerprint scanner to the back side. The Honor 7X features a duo of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear cameras and it features 1/2.9″ sensor size, 1.25 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama. 

Sadly, Rear camera can’t shoot 4K videos, it shoots only [email protected] Where other midrange phones support [email protected]

It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The front camera can shoot videos in 10[email protected]

The Honor 7X comes in three storage variants: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
All of these variants, according to the listing, support expandable storage via
microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
The capable Honor 7X supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS / GLONASS connectivity features.
